You know, for the past decade, bhcosmetics.com has been my refuge. It would be the place I would go if I felt any type of way about the makeup world, and provided me with endless inspiration for not only this blog, but life in general. I believed so strongly in their message and products, I even joined their team of affiliates to aid in helping their products reach a previously untapped market of newbies fresh to the brand into the BH Universe. At last check in, I created a cart, full of interesting goodies to try out for some upcoming reviews. I returned to my cart a few days later, excited at the new prospects, only to discover that a vast majority of BH stock has disappeared off the site!
After about 15 minutes of thorough internet investigating, I realized they were all legitly gone. It was that same feeling I got when they discontinued the 120-color palettes, 1st-5th Additions😔. My heart sank. Apparently the brand was quietly acquired by an outside company, and the
changes have been swift; right down to the overall look of the site. I feel homeless! Even the brush section has had a complete makeover; being much more streamlined, the sets are target specific (ie, eye brush sets, travel series, face brushes, etc). There was 1 palette that tickled my fancy; but it's out of stock...and has remained that way for months...everything else was small and colorway specific; outside of the few travel series palettes they opted to keep. The influencer collabs are also sparse to the point of non-existent...Oh, and I saved the biggest heartbreak for last...NO MORE HIGHLIGHTERS!...at least not the ones of legend we have come to know and love. They have all been replaced with gimmicky, of-the-moment items that we won't be thinking about next week...WTF BH?!
This post is a memorial to all the things that made BH great in the past...if you don't own any of their Zodiac Palettes, particularly the Love Signs, RUN to EBay, Sephora, Ulta, Amazon, or any other place you can still purchase them before they are gone for good. At this point, the Crystal Zodiac is the stuff of Legend and was not available on the website. You just might have missed out on the last of the great baked eyeshadow era...
I'm sorry, but WTF is going on over there at BH?! Whose idea was it to get rid of the most iconic products in your arsenal? BH had amazing price points, so let's not have a pointless debate about cost. Bring it ALL BACK!! I'm about to have a full on tantrum out here in these Beauty Streets! Stop playing with my emotions! I mean is it true?! Is makeup really dying?! This feels like a full on Funeral Procession😓 I pulled out every palette I have from BH to properly mourn the passing of a Legend. Remember all those gorgeous shadows we got from Aurora Lights, Solar Flare, Stellar Collision, and Supernova?! ALL gone. Spotlight Highlight Palette is STILL a staple in my collection. I am at a complete loss for words. Thank Goddess for the internet, so I can still snag some of the OGs, but overstock won't last forever...What the Hell am I supposed to do when it's all GONE?!
