Anyone who frequents Nouveau knows about my love affair with brushes! If a collection contains a set of brushes, I am guaranteed to pick them up. Today's set is just that, but the funny thing is, I ordered these waaayyy after it's matching palette. I actually saw some pretty rave reviews about them, which is what prompted me to check them out for the deep dive. At $9.00 per set, I could hardly resist!!
The first thing I noticed that I knew I would love straight away is that the bristles were dark! I don't know if my mind is playing tricks on me or not, but they just seem to be the easiest to clean and rinse completely of makeup residue. Nothing ruins a great brush experience like permanent staining! I would say these brushes are best for softer, more natural makeup. Although each brush performed well, because the bristles are not as densely packed, the application is more sheer. This is more than fine with me for everyday makeup. The handles are a bright teal with solid black ferrules. The large blending brush (#4) is ideal for highlight, but my favorite of the set would be the dense shader brush (#7). It's perfect for that sweep of color all over the lid when you want to keep things simple with just one shadow.
All in all, this is a decent set, especially for the price. Every girl needs that set of brushes that applies the precise amount of product for that fresh, "meet the parents appropriate" face.
