As promised per my birthday post, here's the first review from the list of products used. It should come to no surprise to you ladies that I included 2 new sets of brushes to try out; today's spotlight being on the Royal Affair Brush Set. I reviewed 2 other items included in this collection in prior posts, which are linked here:
There are 2 items still remaining, the 3 Piece Glitter Kit, and The Mini Spotlight Highlighter + Brush. Since I already reviewed the full sized version of the Spotlight Highlight Palette, I will touch on the Highlighter Brush today. So Let's jump into these gorgeous things!!!
Ok, so you get 10 "Metalized" brushes with flat bottoms, putting you in the mindframe of Real Techniques. Each one has the tie dye theme, which is a mix of hot pink, silver, and lavender. Each brush is duo fiber, however, it is a dark to light colorway, so they are fairly easy to wash completely clean without fear of staining. I was very impressed with three of the face brushes; my only issue with the flat top buffing brush(#4), was that it wasn't quite dense enough for ME to apply my foundation. It DID do the job, but I damn sure had to work for it! I really liked all three eye blending brushes; each one was perfect for it's assigned task. The large chiseled contour brush(#2), blended my blush/contour together seamlessly, and is my favorite brush of the set. It has the feel of a high-end brush; very nice quality. There is a highlighter brush included with the Mini Spotlight Highlight kit, which is a larger version of the large crease brush (#5), and works well with both pressed and loose product.
The set retails for $25.00, but is currently listed on BH.com for $18.75. These are one of the last remaining items from the Royal Affair Collection still available for purchase via the website. You get a good variety of necessary brushes here, 💋💋💋.💖(that would be 3.5 kisses!); a decent, pretty set.~The Queen
