When purchasing an eyeshadow palette, its not only important that the colors have excellent color payoff and staying power, but its EQUALLY imperative that the color selection is diverse. Unless you are an absolute palette junkie(like myself!), you will want to have 3 main palettes based off your own color preferences and taste.

You will want to have a strong neutral palette, containing 18+ shades, like the pictured above sold via eyeslipsface.com . This particular palette contains 32 colors; I have purchased it several times over and still use it faithfully, as a matter of fact, here is a link to my very first purchase of this palette http://nouveaumakeupandfashion.blogspot.com/2014/02/product-rave-elf-32-piece-eyeshadow.html. There are several Naked Palette Dupes in this palette as an added bonus.

The other 2 palettes are going to cater to your creative side, and should contain colors that will take your look to the next level. One should contain deeper versions of your favorite colors, bringing in just the right level of intensity when needed, like the BYS Peach Palette. The last one should up the glam factor by at least 20 ;-) by containing high levels of shimmer/shine to draw attention and light to your eyes. I'm a glitter bomb, but the Prism Eyeshadow palettes from e.l.f. offer such intense shimmer, ESPECIALLY when wet, that I oftentimes skip out on the glitter altogether.
However it is you choose to start off your collection, keep YOUR head. Gravitate towards purchases that make you happy and work for YOU. It's always nice to have an outside opinion, but at the end of the day, its only YOU that has to live with the purchase;-) ~The Queen~
