Base In (ON!) Your Face!

Hello Ladies!  This post is dedicated to the most important step in your eye routine that is so often overlooked...Base!!!  This is the step that should be included right after applying your primer.  Not only does a base keep your shadows in place, but it improves the overall appearance of eye makeup in all forms of photography, including video.  Have you ever seen a pic of an eye look that you thought looked absolutely flawless when you were done applying, but the photo reflects a transparent, muddled mess??!!  That's what you get without a base!  Below I have a few inexpensive options available via eyeslipsface.com that work like a charm.  I also included some of my favorite brush options to apply the bases with from Coastalscents.com.  Each base option varies in texture, so depending on what shadows you choose to layer on top, you should choose the appropriate base to layer under the desired shadow.  Let me know how these options worked for you, and if you have any go-to base options that are $5.00 or less, and if this is the first time you have ever tried a base, I would love to know if it made the major difference for you that it did for me once I discovered the fabulosity of a base.  Good Luck, hope to hear from you soon!  XOXO

1. e.l.f. Essential All Over Cover Stick in Honey: $1.00
-Perfect under lighter, pressed neutral matte shadows; best if used with medium synthetic shadow
       brush

2. e.l.f. Essential Cream Eyeshadow Duo in Mocha Swirl: $1.00
-Stickier base, best used in conjunction with loose, shimmery shadows with an angled synthetic
       brush.

3. e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeshadow in Natural Glow: $3.00
-Slightly tacky when dry; holds shadows with more powdery texture; works well with doe foot
       blender for application.

4. e.l.f. Essential All Over Color Stick in Toasted: $1.00
-Layers beautifully under all shimmer shadows, I prefer to use this with loose pigments; best if used
      with medium synthetic shadow brush.

5. e.l.f. Essential Jumbo Eyeshadow Pencil in Rock Out: $2.00
-By far my absolute favorite product to use as a base, works well with all shadows; no brush
needed for application, however, a large synthetic shadow brush helps to smooth color for even
      coverage.

6. e.l.f. Studio Cream Eyeliner in Teal Tease: $3.00
-Due to vibrancy of color, best used with a shadow in a similar color; can be tacky prior to drying,
however, become harder to manipulate and blend upon drying.  An angled synthetic brush is best
     for product application.
