Besides the fabulous weather and countless outdoor music festivals, the warmer weather brings out the best and the brightest for eyeshadow palettes. Each release promising to be THE must have makeup item for any event you choose to attend. Half the fun is seeing what each one has to offer, and choosing the one that's just right for you. BH Cosmetics drops both a palette and a brush set at the onset of festival season every year, and, for the first time, I ordered both IMMEDIATELY(come back later this week to check out the brush review!)! It was just too good not to be included in the deep dive!! Idk if it was the neon packaging or the colorway, but once I laid eyes on the shade "Denim", Jennifer Hudson instantly started playing in my head, "if this isn't love, say what it is..."
In general, I don't usually gravitate towards the palettes that are overly colorful (think ANY of the Take Me to Brazil Palettes 1-3!), because it's not practical for me and regular use. Sure, they are absolutely gorgeous, and eye candy to be sure, but I don't normally reach for neon shades and pressed glitters for my everyday face. Colour Festival is actually a really nice take on wearable color. you get 20 vibrant shades, a mix of mattes and ultra shimmers; yet the punchiest shade is a bright blue that transfers to the lid in an almost teal color. Yep, that's "Denim", the shade I mentioned earlier, and it almost makes all other shades of blue obsolete in my eyes. As usual, the shadows are highly pigmented and very easy to blend. The mattes do sheer out slightly when blended, which I do not mind, I prefer to add color as needed, as opposed to removing any excess. The last vertical row of the palette contains 4 shades, Rage, VP, Rave, and Centerstage, that are all FABULOUS, and would pay the $20.00 this palette costs just for them!
When I look at this colorway, I can't help but think Summer! This is easily packable, and includes enough shades to create any variety of looks. What a welcome change to a palette filled with neutral shades or some variation thereof!!! 💋💋💋💋💋 BH; Thank you guys for fulfilling my summer eye look dreams!😜~ The Queen
