This was one of those products that did not excite me upon first sight. As a matter of fact, I hesitated in purchasing it. Not that Blushing in Bali did not immediately STUNT, I mean, look at it, it's GORGEOUS; I just worried about the blush shades were too fair for me. I'm glad I got over my initial apprehension and included it in my recent order! This face palette shattered all my previous misconceptions and lit me "All the Way Up"! Let's take a look at BH's version of packable beauty, and the only face palette in their Travel Series...
There are 6 shades in total, 3 blushes and 3 highlighters. Don't let it's inclusion in BH's Travel Series Collection fool you; this is a FULL SIZED product; 21.5 grams to be exact! It is however, perfectly sized for any on the go makeup kit. The color Lychee, the lightest shade in the palette, was the source of my initial anxiety. I looked at it and thought, "it's no way that's going to show up on my skin as a blush; Coral is questionable too..." Yet, the highlight shades were too tempting to pass up, so I finally rationalized the purchase by vowing to use the lighter shades on my eyelids. This is perhaps one of the best bargains I ever made with myself! The formula is finely milled and extra silky. The pigmentation is Superb; so much so that when I mixed Lychee and Coral with my favorite bronzer, I created a blush shad that was so flattering for me, I IMMEDIATELY became obsessed and have not stopped using the combo YET!! BTW, the shades DO translate beautifully to the lid as well. As for the highlighters, Sunkissed, the bottom middle shade is my favorite of the 3 because, with a light hand, it delivers that ideal amount of everyday lit-from-within glow. I'm not tan enough yet to try Ember as a face highlight, however, it was a fantastic shade all over my lid, the same story for Glisten, the lightest of the 3 highlighters.
Blushing in Bali retails for $16.00, however, is on sale thru Memorial Day for $12.80 on the BH website. At either rate, it's a beauty bargain you should NOT be forcing yourself to live without. Take it from me, if I have learned anything from this experience, it's that not matter how long you have been into makeup, there is always opportunity to discover new things and be amazed. I absolutely ADORE this palette and hope this becomes a permanent fixture in the BH family of products, dropping a new one each year. Beautiful job BH; 💋💋💋💋💋, and then some!~The Queen
