Now that the brand spanking new makeup for festival season 2019 has begun to drop with Coachella just around the corner, I thought it was only right to revisit a set of brushes that was released during the 2018 festival season; The Weekend Festival Brush Set from BH Cosmetics!! Back then, I can recall a decent amount of buzz surrounding these hot pink beauties, and I just couldn't wait to get my hand on them. When I saw these were still available to be purchased through several third party retailers, I took it as a sign from the makeup gods as the perfect way to usher in festival season Queen Khira style!!
These brush design is already nostalgic, as the hot pink barrels and black ferrules are reminiscent of BH brush sets of old. The set includes 10 full sized brushes with duo-fiber bristles. You get 4 face brushes, and 6 for the eyes. The bristles on each of the heads are VERY plush; as surprisingly dense as the bristles are on brushes 2-10, brush #1, the pointed powder brush is NOT super dense. HOWEVER, it is full AND flexible, making it ideal for sweeping loose powders all over the face. The angled contour brush(#3) is wonderful as intended; I use the tip of the brush to apply the product, keeping the majority of the brush head clean for blending. There are 2 eye brushes in particular, the large blending brush(#6), and the fluffy shader brush(#7), that I found to be especially useful; they blended my shadows out to a more airbrushed finish.
Both Mercari and the Beauty BAr currently have these brushes available to purchase, ranging in price from $20-23; however, they can also be found on eBay. If you are a beginner looking to build a brush kit, I would say this set is MORE than decent, and will suit your needs. It's a set of 💋💋💋💋 beauties, and definitely worth a second look.
