60 Second Review of Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow Palettes: Zodiac Collection

I hope everyone is having a fantastic Sunday, I just wanted to pop by Nouveau for a quick look at the new Wet n Wild Color Icon Eyeshadow palettes being featured in their newest set to be released, the Zodiac Collection(there will be a full eview of other products included in the collection in posts to come, keep your eyes peeled!).

The palette collection includes four different versions(pictured above clockwise from the left), each one being aptly named after a corresponding natural element : Air, Earth, Fire, and Water.  Based off my skin tone and eye color, the two palettes that worked best for me are Earth and Fire.  Let me just say that ALL shades are metallic.  Even though all shades were jewel-toned and lovely, its kind of difficult to build a complete eye look using just one of these palettes individually.

Back to Business...

Ok, so, lets talk formula...it was pretty decent, HOWEVER, is NOT the typical color icon quality we have come to love and rely on. I am aware with the repackaging of the color icon shadows, there came a change to the original formula, which was a pleasant surprise; this is NOT that formula!!  The Earth version's most eye-catching color, the emerald green comes out the pan in large flakes, more along the lines of a Glitter, than an eyeshadow.  The Fire palette did not have this issue, but the color payoff was slightly disappointing.  I was expecting REAL intensity without needing to wet my brush, or apply using my finger.

My opinion on these shadows is that they would have been much more useful and brilliant as loose pigments.  The formula is not right for the pressed pan.  I sadly must give these shadows only two kisses๐Ÿ’‹๐Ÿ’‹, as they are virtually unusable to me in their present form. I have a soft spot for Wet n Wild; trust me, its hurting me more than them!๐Ÿ˜œ~The Queen~
