Down With the Clownface!!!

If I've said it before, I'll say it again, makeup should accessorize your look, not BE your look!!!  This is a concept that seems to escape some of the makeup lovers of the world.  I am the first to say how much I love all things beauty, from glitter to gloss, I love it all.  I can't go in any store that sells it and not at least take a peek down the isle.  I dare say I feel slightly exposed if I don't have on a little tinted moisturizer and a swipe of lipgloss.  So trust me, I fully sympathize!!

But ladies, ladies, ladies, why are we wearing the makeup equivalent of a full-length chinchilla fur coat with a pair of shorts and sneakers?!  Look, let's be real here.  Some women are being misled by a plethora of YouTube beauty gurus and bloggers who are leading you to believe that their artistic expression is an acceptable way to appear in everyday life.  Each of them post a "get ready with me" entry, or a celebrity inspired tutorial.  What they are failing to mention is that these sessions are to get ready to be filmed and or photographed.  This is an essential distinction that is not being made!!  I know from my own personal experience that the amount of makeup I wear when filming or taking pictures is almost double my everyday routine just to achieve a flawless look.  It takes about 45 mins of prep time to aquire an HD worthy beat.

You Don't Need To Do This To Walk Out The Door Each Day!!  Not unless your ultimate goal is to look like a Drag Queen...

Trust the mantra Less is More.  If you see a look that is to die for, try dialing it back to about .5 of what the guru advised in the video.  Think of makeup as the perfect bag, shoes, or piece of jewelry.  It's supposed to complement your look and set it off.  Let's also be aware that you don't want a clash of the titans situation going on between your face and outfit, so let's make sure we make choices that make sense.  EmilyNoel83 and DivaMakeupQueen are really great at providing completely wearable looks, and geniuses at interpreting star looks to everyday wearability.

Save the Masks, Photoshopped faces, and face-hogging false brows for the front of an HD lense.  Step out with beautiful skin, gorgeous eyes, and luscious lips to die for!  Queen Out!!💋
