Let Me Be the FIRST to say I in no way condone bullying in ANY shape, form, or fashion. It's ALWAYS a sucker move, and individuals who use this avenue of self-expression definitely have some deep rooted psychological issues that need to be dealt with by a trained professional behind closed doors.
With that being said, on to the fabulousness of a teen cult-classic!
Mean Girls has to be one of my favorite movies of all time! Not only does it advocate a policy that is near and dear to my heart, Owning your mistakes and dealing with the consequences (not to mention no snitching!), but a pretty awful cretin of a teenage girl get hers in the end! However, the one thing that kept me coming back as a young girl was the Killer Style!!!
The chicks in the Plastics clique knew how to WORK IT! At a time in their lives when most young women struggle with personal style because they are still in the midst of self-discovery, these girls embodied what countless other girls their age were searching for. Even though they were vicious at times, they were ALWAYS fierce, and the perfect example for anyone seeking a crash course. As if I needed another reason to swoon, these chicks had a PINK WEDNESDAY(Possibly in adoration of another of my favorite teenage mellow dramas Prietty in Pink!)!! How fierce is that??!!!
In the tradition of Throwback Thursday, I tried to imagine what my version of Pink Wednesday would have been as a teenager. Let's be clear, I've BEEN fierce since birth, and never answered to any self-proclaimed fashion tyrant of a teenage girl-monster!! It has always been super-important to me to add the twinkle to my own star, but 1 day a week dedicated to my favorite color is Pure Genious, and should be replicated by all!!
